SGA MEETS WITH ALADDIN

By EARLE MAXWELL
April 5, 2006

Recently, members of the Student Government Association formed a committee on the behalf of the student body and met with the new head of Aladdin, Darrell Green, to discuss issues concerning the quality of the food served in the student commons as well as Holy Grounds.

During the meeting, your S.G.A. representatives expressed complaints that have been issued to them from you, the students. These complaints include, but are in no way limited to, the lack of variety in the cafeteria and the sub-par quality of the food.

The representatives also came prepared with a number of suggestions from the students, including the idea of putting sports drinks into Holy Grounds, adding healthier cereal in the cafeteria, providing options for students who may be vegetarian, improving the quality of the weekend menu, and making food as the night goes on as to keep it fresh.

Mr. Green was extremely receptive and interested in the things that the representatives had to say on the student’s behalf. If you have noticed, some of these suggestions have already begun to take affect in the commons and Holy Grounds. These changes are all thanks to you, the student body.

The food committee will be meeting with Mr. Green again very soon to discuss updates, as well as introduce any more suggestions or complaints. In fact, SGA would like to invite the whole student body to come to the meeting and offer suggestions about the food. The date of that meeting has not yet been set, but when it does we will send an email and post a banner in the Student Commons.

SGA would also like to thank everyone who spent a lot of time and energy during elections. It was a lot of fun and we hope you enjoyed it.

We would also like to thank those who turned out for President Theirfelder’s Forum on Wednesday March 29th. It was such a success that we will be holding another one in April to discuss Facebook.

As always SGA welcomes you to our meetings on Wed at 5:15 p.m. in the Mezzanine. Please come and voice your opinion or email any thoughts or suggestions to SGA President Stefanie Wharton (stefaniecwhorton@abbey.bac.edu).
