CAMPUS NEWS CAREER FAIR 2006
By GRACE GUNTER
Yes, it’s that time of year again. The Career Fair happens Feb. 10th at the Airport Sheraton in Charlotte.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the fair, it is the largest in the region and welcomes all Belmont Abbey students (not just seniors). There will be around ninety organizations and businesses looking for prospective employees and interns from small, liberal arts colleges. NINETY! When are you ever going to get that many potential employers in a room again? Probably never. So take advantage of this great opportunity to “get your foot in the door”!
The morning session starts at 9 a.m. From then until 1 p.m., businesses will talk with students about job descriptions, career possibilities, the application process, and any other questions students may have. The afternoon session runs from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. This session is only for those students who set up interviews with organizations earlier in the day. The interviews are twenty minutes long and slots will fill up quickly.
Need some interview tips or
how to speak with recruiters? Attend “How to ’work’ a career fair!” on Feb. 8th, 1-2 p.m. in Stowe Hall, room 300. Any further questions you have can be answered there.
If you are not able to attend or want more information on the Career Fair, go to www.MetrolinaColleges.org/students/. If you would rather speak to Matt, you can reach him at 704-825-6874 or MatthewCaporale@bac.edu. Directions to the Airport Sheraton are located at Career Services in St. Leo’s.
