CAMPUS NEWS FIRST-EVER CRUSADER HISTORY FORUM A SUCCESS
By AUSTIN E. SCOTT
On Wednesday, January 25th, The Crusader spent some time studying its own past.
The staff hosted a forum: “Covering the Abbey: Past and Present” featuring a panel of former advisors and editors of the student paper.
Present to answer questions and share colorful stories were Dr. George Herndl (Free Lance advisor, 1970-1980), Dr. Paul Shepherd (The Abbey Voice advisor, 1988-1991), Dr. Weir (advisor, 1997-2003), Br. Paul Shanley ‘75 (former copy editor), and Elizabeth Elliott ‘05 (former co-editor).
Dr. Shepherd was in town that day for a reading from his new novel, More Like Not Running Away.
Fr. John Oetgen ‘45 (a Contact co-editor) is also scheduled to speak to the newspaper class this semester.
