BAC WELCOMES LARGEST-EVER INCOMING CLASS

From STAFF REPORTS
September 9, 2006

Belmont Abbey College broke an enrollment record this year as 1,110 students came to campus this fall to take classes in both the traditional (or “day”) program and the Adult Degree program. That’s an increase of 25% over last year’s enrollment.

Traditional student enrollment rose by 15% from last year, while the ADP program saw a 52% increase in enrollment.

The Abbey welcomed 359 new students to campus this fall (the highest number since records have been kept). Thanks to the large enrollment, for the first time ever, BAC had to place admitted students on a waiting list.

The new students come from 31 different states and nine foreign countries. 83% of the new students live on campus.
