Francis Bacon. Historia Regni Henrici Septimi. 1661.
This is a later edition of Bacon's Life of Henry VII, King of England, written in 1621 and first published the following year. The book was written to flatter King James I, a descendant of Henry VII, but is viewed as an excellent biography in its own right. This edition was published in Amsterdam, bound in vellum, and printed in Elzivir typeface. The Elzevir family of printers were pioneers of small, low-priced books, and their press flourished from 1583-1681.[ME]
